This is really fascinating. Growing up, I was told that my surname was probably Dutch, and that the spelling had been changed at Ellis Island. Later, my grandfather told me that it was Irish.
When I put my surname into this profiler, I think I can safely say that it is almost certainly British.
The only two countries that list my surname are the United Kingdom, and the United States, being much more common in the UK.
In the US, my last name is found in about 10 states, with over 46% residing in Bar Harbor, Maine. I’d like to go there and find out how they pronounce it!

But after looking up my surname and my friends and family’s surnames I ended up searching for some rather inappropriate things… Apparently, there are 3.67 FPM (frequency per million) people whose surname is “Penis” in Spain, and 0.01 FPM people in the United States with the surname “Cunt”…
